The Aug 1 Az Star reports what most of us already know: Two new reports indicate that the economic outlook for AZ is even gloomier.
In another business section article, "The prospects for a quick economic recovery dimmed Thursday with new data showing the economy grew at a slower-than expected rate this spring despite some oomph from tax-rebate checks--and actually shrank late last year."

Given this information, wouldn't it be prudent to NOT burden the residents of Oro Valley with a property tax to build a park?
That's a good enough reason to vote "NO" on the Naranja Bond in Nov.

Arizona is one of a dozen States that is operating on a deficit.
Arizona has never had to cut back. Its been a big growth State.
Growth covers a multitude of overspending sins.
Time for some belt tightening.
Every dark cloud has a silver lining. The upside of this gloomy economic outlook is that it just might cause Oro Valley Marketplace to fail which would be just what Vestar and David Malinswinkle deserve.
And to Thinker and his Friends, don't bother telling me that the failure of OVM will also mean the failure of Oro Valley. We've already had this discussion. We've done just fine without this junk mall.
And how many of you OVM cheerleaders will be buying your hooker-wear at Styles for Less?
Cowgirl,
I agree we did just fine without this
junk mall.
Right now it looks like the OVM will
be a big negative for OV.
Right now it also looks like nothing to be proud of.
So far we have an ugleeeeee big Wal Mart, movies and a few junky clothing
stores. If anybody wants to check out the Styles for Less website, you will see some cheap looking
hoochie mama type clothing.
It is now obvious that Vestar and Malin can't even fill the stores with tenents, let alone decent ones.
Although I hope to never have to shop at a Wal-Mart, I was sort of hoping that Vestar would bring in some of those nicer stores they promised us.
Right now in my opinion , Vestar is a flim flam company with no integrity at all.
