ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 25, 2012) - The Town of Oro Valley has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report for FY 2010/11. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Town’s comprehensive annual financial report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstration of a constructive “sprit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

Stacy Lemos and her staff do an outstanding job in the area of Finance and should be proud of the recognition they receive.
I can remember one action that Stacy took in the area of bond defeasance. She was able to pay off higher interest rate bonds saving the Town significant dollars.
