Can I get some clarification on a couple of these items?
Is it standard practice for council members to charge taxpayers $500 for memberships and luncheons with certain clubs as Mary Snider has done?
Why are taxpayers funding lunches for council members and other town employees? Is it every council member racking up charges on this credit card or is it just Snider and Hornat?
Why is Hornat eating at North? Shouldn't he be patronizing Oro Valley restaurants and giving THEM the tax dollars? That's what they tell the rest of us to do!
Is Hornat the only one charging .51/mile to to attend council meetings or is this standard practice?
Cowgirl--- Your questions all have merit, and should concern ALL Oro Valley taxpayers that are being "ripped off" by Hornat, Snider, as well as Hiremath, Solomon & Waters.
The only two not taking advantage of their expense account are Bill Garner & Barry Gillaspie.
Hornat & Snider are two of the worst offenders----spending TAXPAYERS MONEY without ANY regard for the people of Oro Valley.
Is there any doubt these two deserve to be recalled? I don't think so!
Following are some other reasons to recall the majority of the Council beginning with Snider and Hornat.
1. They still want to consider eliminating Coyote Run QUICKLY so RTA can run its Beta test with our seniors and disabled citizens – the Council could easily suggest RTA run their test elsewhere and determine if they are able to provide comparable service?
2. They are often disrespectful and discourteous to citizens who have other opinions and suggestions – attend or watch Council meetings to verify this
3. They are often disrespectful and discourteous to other councilmembers – attend or watch Council meetings to verify this
4. They have even become disrespectful and discourteous to some staff members – when staff members did not present the “desired information”, the mayor appointed a councilmember study group to find the “right information.”
How many OV employees have left or will leave because of this council?
Cares for OV--- Yup! You're so right, but let's not forget two other egregious moves by Hornat & Snider.
One of their first votes was to disregard any number of well qualified candidates to fill a council vacancy.
These two made sure Steve Solomon, the builder, and probably the least qualified of the 18 candidates became the new Council Member. Without doubt, Solomon is the WORST Council Member in my 18 years in OV.
What did they do next? Hornat & Snider led the charge to make sure the outside agency that was to evaluate the police department, didn't happen.
No! These two felt it wasn't important to see if any cuts could be made in the police budget, which incidentally, is almost 50% of the whole town's budget.
There's only one way to save Oro Valley: RECALL HORNAT & SNIDER!
re we still providing town funded transportation for ou police department employees? Some where I read that a large [ortion of our police officers drive city owned cars to work and home. I assume this benefit is included in thier W-2 as mine was while serving as a company executive.
Have only lived in Oro Valley for four years and the town council has been in disaray the whole time. Just not very encouraging to see the elected officials "use taxpayer funded expense accounts like drunken sailors". Accountable -- Probably Not In This Lifetime.
