Dave Perry learned that advertising was the only thing that kept The Explorer afloat during his tenure. Perry made sure he NEVER "stepped on advertisers toes" during his tenure as editor & publisher.
Perry then quit to become President of The Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce. He knows no more about Oro Valley now than he did while he "blew smoke" as editor of The Explorer.
Some examples of Perry's "gibberish."
Perry has written "guest opinion" found in the latest issue of Inside Tucson Business.
Perry speaks with a "forked tongue," almost contradicting himself in his feeble effort to blame "a small minority" for the actions that precipitated the potential recall of Joe Hornat & Mary Snider.
Perry comes really close to saying that the doubling of the Utility Tax is good for businesses. Too bad, Perry isn't as concerned with the schools, or he would have probably said, it's great for them.
The fact is, although the people of Oro Valley got "screwed" by Hornat & Snider on this tax, the businesses & schools are getting hurt even more.
Too bad Perry cares less about our environment, our wildlife and our water, or he wouldn't be in such a hurry to think it was such a good idea to rescind a unanimously approve resolution by a previous council more than 4 years ago that opposed the Rosemont Mine.
He didn't say anything, but I'm sure he's real proud of Hornat, Snider and the other three---Hiremath, Solomon & Waters that wouldn't even allow any speakers on this important issue at the last council meeting.
Perry then addresses the Coyote Run Bus Service, that Snider & Hornat have been going back and forth between approval & reconsideration.
Perry says it's "not a crime" to do away with this service that would be subsidized by perhaps $250,000 from bed tax revenue, and is so critical to those that use it: our elderly and our disabled citizens.
I'll tell you what is a "crime!"
A "crime" is that Hornat & Snider were instrumental in "killing" an outside study of our police budget that keeps escalating and approaches almost 50% of Oro Valley' total budget.
It's a "crime" to allow 68 cops to take home police cars, regardless of where they live, while considering taking away the Coyote Run Bus Service.
That's not only a "crime." That's a disgrace!
Perry ends his guest editorial by stating The Metropolitan Pima Alliance and the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association join NPCCC in supporting Hornat & Snider.
Too bad he failed to note the Police Officers, The Fraternal Order of Police & The Tucson C of C also support these two.
Whether he knows it or not, Perry probably helped convince more people who read his opinion to sign the recall. That's the main reason we're posting it here.
