The Explorer Quotes Oro Valley Council Members On Last Week's Tentative Budget Approval

I believe Dave Perry, editor & publisher of The Explorer performed an admirable service to the citizens of Oro Valley, in his story on last Wednesday's Council discussion and approval of a tentative budget.

Why do I say that? Our readers need only read the accurate quotes of the Council Members to get a true understanding of which three really understand the ramifications of their action.

I hope all our readers will take a few moments to read the article; paying particular attention to the quotes.

If you then disagree with our assessment that ONLY Council Members Garner, Gillaspie & Latas have a firm grip on reality, please be good enough to comment, and present your case.

We can only hope that one of the majority will "see the light," and join with Barry, Bill & Salette to pass a GOOD, FINAL 2009-2010 BUDGET at the June 17 council meeting.

The Explorer article is here.

Maybe the quotes were accurate, but the article was not.

"Abbott tried to reduce commitments to the Naranja Townsite survey, without a second..."

Actually, Abbott tried to increase commitments to the Naranja Townsite Survey, from $1,000 to $15,000--without a second.

my take home:

the town will have to cut jobs to balance the budget.

so be it.

no new taxes.

The Explorer is a very lopsided and bias rag. Follow the money and you can understand why.

How 'bout a "passion" for balancing the budget, Paula?

Why do we continue to revisit the Naranja Townsite?

I'm offended when politicos don't want to settle for the results of an election. We're obviously too stupid to know what's best for us...
