Hello again, Oro Valley! Here is the monthly update on the Oro Valley Historical Society, and we are excited to let you know what’s happening in October!
Since Germans celebrate Oktoberfest during this time, we are going back to our Germanic heritage by honoring George Pusch this month in the Pusch House Museum at the historic Steam Pump Ranch.
Hello again, Oro Valley! Here is the monthly update on the Oro Valley Historical Society, and we are excited to let you know what’s happening in October!
We noticed in the September 21 issue of LOVE that our former President, Jim Williams’ book Oro Valley – The First 50 Years was noted. It is out and available for you to read about how we became the community we are now. The author of that piece said that the book can be ordered on Amazon. You can actually buy the book right here in Oro Valley!!! The Oro Valley Historical Society has the book for sale every Saturday at Steam Pump Ranch, and the best part is that Jim has offered a commission to the Society for every book the society sells! Please consider buying the book from us and you, too, can participate in keeping Oro Valley history alive!
Enjoy the Farmers’ Market at Steam Pump Ranch, then walk a few steps south to enjoy the camaraderie and the history of Oro Valley. We look forward to seeing you in October! History loves company!
We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are interested in becoming docents at the Pusch House museum and for Steam Pump Ranch tours. Training sessions are being scheduled for the fall season. We hope to hear from you. Contact: Tina at tinhow@comcast.net In addition, we could use some help with social media, fundraising, and gardening – there’s something for everyone!
