Oro Valley refreshes Vista newsletter, publishes Fall 2014 Parks & Recreation GuideOro Valley, Arizona (August 27, 2014) - In order to better meet the communication needs of Oro Valley residents, the Town took a new approach to its Oro Valley Vista Newsletter. Previously, this eight-page document was produced only four times a year and was available online. The refreshed Vista has been condensed to two pages, allowing the Town to produce it more frequently and distribute printed copies six times per year to 19,000 households via Oro Valley Water Utility bills. The Vista will still be available online at www.orovalleyaz.gov for residents who do not receive paper water bills. Hard copies are also available at Town Hall.
The Town is also proud to announce the publication of the Fall 2014 Parks and Recreation Program Guide, which includes details on recreational programs for all age groups, aquatics and special events through December 2014. UPDATE: Bank Robbery Suspect arrested
Oro Valley, Ariz. (August 22, 2014) - On August 21, 2014, Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) was contacted by Tucson Police Department (TPD) in reference to a bank robbery suspect in their jurisdiction. TPD believed the suspect in custody could be the same suspect in Oro Valley's August 12, 2014 bank robbery.
OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit responded to TPD's incident and worked collaboratively with TPD on this investigation. OVPD investigation revealed that Patrice Gomis, a 23-year-old African-American male, obtained a credit card fraudulently and for the past week, used it throughout the community. Search warrants were obtained for Gomis' vehicle and residence. Evidentiary items were located connecting Gomis to the bank robbery and fraud that occurred in Oro Valley. Gomis was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on Oro Valley charges for Armed Robbery (F2), Fraud (F2) and Forgery (F4).

I think it's called the Arizona League of Cities and Towns, rather than the Cities of Leagues and Towns.
And to those who always criticize Zinkin for attending these conferences, well now you'll have to criticize Snider, Waters and Hornat for attending as well. Rock...meet hard place.
