EXTRA: ZINKIN RECALL EFFORT FAILS

At 4:45 PM today, the effort to recall Council Member Mike Zinkin, an effort led by Mayor Hiremath and Council Members Hornat and Snider, informed Oro Valley Town Clerk Bowers that they would not be filing the required signatures to force a recall election of Council Member Zinkin.  The deadline for filing a list of 2100 plus valid Oro Valley voter signatures was 5 PM.

 More to follow.

Thanks for the heads-up. I prayed this recall would end in ignominityy, and it has. May the foul effort of these O.V. council persons end up in the county dump.

We're doing the Happy Dance at our house! I'm not surprised that it failed. Their arguments/complaints were so weak. Just look at the complaint by the female police officer for example.

She was so offended that Mike told her that she was better to look at than her male co-worker, meanwhile, she works in the Police Department...a male-dominated, ego-driven, testosterone-filled atmosphere where I'm sure she hears much worse than that EVERY SINGLE DAY and yet says nothing about it.

Yes, I'm sure that when they're in a tense and possibly life-threatening situation, the male police officers say things like, "Oh, fiddlesticks!" or "Get on the ground, you nice man!" THIS is why her "complaint" had no credibility.

Same for Amanda Jacobs who complained about Mike's language when, by her own admission, her own language was so much worse! No credibility whatsoever. What a bunch of amateurs!
