There is a wonderful theme in this thread...the OVPD is a valuable resource in our town. I checked the criteria for Oro Valley being named fourth best place to live in Arizona. Crime rate was number four. Big surprise. The theme continues in the subsection entitled, "Oro Valley Gets 2 Bad Guys."

Speaking of the OVPD. I happened to walk into Target the other day, to discover multiple members of the OVPD, including Chief Sharp, participating in Shop with a Cop. Did you know that the FOP, through fundraising efforts, donated $200 to each child (there were 18 of them) to purchase whatever they wanted at Target? This is a terrific idea. It was great to see Mayor Hiremath, along with Councilmembers Snider and Hornat there. I seem to see them, along with Councilmembers Waters, at almost every town event. As usual, there was no sign of Burns, Garner, or Zinkin.

Thanks for mentioning the "Shop With A Cop" event. The presser (towns press release) went out too late for us to let people know about it. Yes. We agree, Mark, the Oro Valley Police Department is a valuable resource. We love it when they catch the bad guys!

Maybe that's because Burns, Garner and Zinkin are always WORKING, either in their JOBS/CAREERS or focusing on town issues in their spare time, working for the PEOPLE who elected them. Meanwhile the others are always searching for the limelight, looking to get their names in the paper, looking for photo ops, etc. The four of them are like a high school clique, always showing themselves off, wanting to "be seen" and snubbing everyone else in the class.

Not even you can believe that, Victorian Cowgirl... Come on.

I find it insulting that you seem to believe Oro Valley citizens are stupid enough to fall for your endless spiel. Please stop thinking you are the only smart person living here.

On the other hand, the way Mike treats speed limits and accident reporting does indeed suggest he must be really busy.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

VC, your response has no basis in fact. How often did Zinkin mention that he is retired, so he will have the time to take care of his position as a council person? It's not uncommon for Zinkin to be missing from town events or activities.

Yes, Garner and Burns work. But Mayor Hiremath seems to make the time to participate in town activities.  Don't tell me it's because he is the boss.  He has his priorities straight. It's a choice.  If Garner and Burns can't find the time, maybe serving on the council isn't right for them.

If you think the only four on the council (Hiremath, Hornat, Snider, and Waters) who seem to care about this town are out snubbing people, then you probably have not ever taken the time to talk to them.  I know it's so easy to find fault and it takes effort to get to know people.  This group of four couldn't be nicer, more inclusive, and willing to talk to or spend time with people in this community.

You state that Garner, Burns, and Zinkin are too busy doing their job?  Have you ever asked Garner how many times he has walked in to the police station to talk with the people there...To do his research, develop relationships, and find answers to his questions?  I can tell you the answer....ZERO!
Is that doing his job?  NO!

So nice and interesting post! Here you find out great solution of problem. So this is the most important think of the daily life, family and country. http://trafficschool2u.com/ To guarantee the well-being of everybody out and about, regardless of our age or our aptitude level, it is essential for every last one of us to uphold safe and opposing driving practices effectively. Lamentably, some of the time in spite of our earnest attempts we unintentionally commit an error and get a ticket for activity violation.

Mayor
Hiremath being self-employed, with employees, can determine his own schedule.
Garner and Burns are not self-employed and can't take time off, at will, to
attend Town functions.

Because of Garner's and Burn's employment status, they should be commended. The
commitment of their limited free time to the citizens of Oro Valley is greatly
appreciated..

Mark Fine, The subject content of contact or discussion with the policed
department isn’t public record. Therefore, how do you know that Garner has not
reached out to the police department? How do you know he has had zero
discussions with Chief Sharp? Please
present factual evidence, exclude hear say.

This Shop with a Cop was a very commendable OVPOA event. It was not Shop with a Council Member, and not a Town sponsored event.

Mayor Hiremath, being self-employed, with employees, can determine his own schedule. Garner and Burns are not self-employed and can't take time off, at will, to attend many functions.

Because of Garner's and Burn's employment status, they should be commended. The commitment of their limited free time to the citizens of Oro Valley is greatly appreciated.

All successful lawyers I know have a lot of flexibility when it comes to scheduling. So, please present factual evidence, not hearsay. Why can't Burns make time? Is it because he is not good at his job?

Moreover, wasn't one of the big LOVE arguments during the last mayoral campaign that Zinkin is retired and Hiremath has a job, hence Mike could dedicate a lot more time to town matters? Where is Mike now? What is he doing that keeps him so busy that he cannot make time for town events? Maybe it's the same thing that is forcing him to run a bunch of red lights, violate speed limits, and neglect accident reporting... Either way, I'd love to know what keeps him so busy.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

If you're so sure that OV citizens are too smart to believe anything I say, then why are you always trying to do "damage control" on my comments?

Your move, Mary.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

OV Dad, obviously we don’t know the same successful lawyers. The vast majority of the ones I know don’t have time during the day to commit to outside events. However, they are generous in giving off-hour time to nonprofits. Neither of our opinions are hearsay.

I find it very disrespectable to imply Councilmember Burns might be bad at his job. I could have implied Mayor Hiremath is bad at his job. However, I didn’t and wouldn’t.

Why did you respond with the party-line attack on Councilmember Zinkin? My response to Mark Fine made no reference to him.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

Zinkin does have time to "take care of his position as a council person." Why don't you ask the residents of Palisades how much work he did on their behalf recently? That's just one example of a council member doing what we elected him to do...represent the PEOPLE.

I don't know about you, but I don't elect someone so that they can spend their time shopping with a cop or attending a tree lighting. I elect them to spend their time working on projects that affect my quality of life.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

Hiremath makes time to attend all the frivolous events because, (1) He owns his own business and can set his own hours, (2) He loves the limelight, and (3) Attending these events is fun, it's not work. That's what he and the other lime-lighters gravitate towards.

Watch a council meeting and it's clear which council members are well-versed on the agenda times PRIOR to the meeting and which ones are flubbing their way through it DURING the meeting. That's because some council members are serious about the job and they take the time to do the necessary reading and research BEFORE the meeting, you know, while the others are attending community events and having their pictures taken.

Richard Furash, MBA said...

I'm responding to your comment paragraph by paragraph.

So Hiremath, Hornat, Snider and Waters are the only ones "who seem to care about this town." Yes, and that's why it was Zinkin and not the Fab Four who worked with the residents of Palisades in regards to the Kai Property.

If "this group of four couldn't be nicer, more inclusive, and willing to talk..." why did Hiremath snub me when I tried to engage him in conversation after a candidate debate at the Hilton? When they were campaigning door-to-door, why did Snider, Waters and Hornat avoid knocking on doors of residents who had Zinkin signs posted in their yards? You and I have a very different definition of the word "inclusive."

Richard Furash, MBA said...

When Zinkin tried to "find answers to his questions" regarding the OVPD, he was accused of trying to destroy public safety and of implying that the officers have no integrity.

But if Garner DOESN'T try to find answers to his questions about the OVPD (according to you), then he's not "doing his job."

I guess I don't need to argue with you on this one. You're doing a fine job of arguing with yourself.
