Notice: New Commenting System In Effect

We are using a different commenting system than the one provided by Google. It is provided by a company called DISQUS.

The DISQUS commenting system allows you to log in to comment using your Google account, your Facebook account, your Twitter account, or an account that you set up with DISQUS.

You can login using your current Google account, your Facebook account, your Twitter account, or an account you set up with  DISQUS.

For example, when you click on the Facebook icon, you will be asked if the system can access your Facebook account. Once it does, you can login using that identity.

By the way, if you do choose to set up an account with DISQUS, you can set your preferences so that you will receive an email notification if anyone replies to one of your comments.

Once you have logged in, you can comment as usual. However, there is more that you can do.  Now you can reply to a comment by clicking on “reply” where that comment appears.  Now, if you want to discuss the comment posted by someone, you can address them directly.   They can reply to you.

You can also share a comment that is posted on 3 social networking sites: Facebook, Twitter or Google+. You do this by clicking "share" in the lower right portion of the commenter's box.  A dialogue box will appear.  Click on where you want to share the comment.

We think that this new system will add a level of community to our discussions. Also, we hope, it will promote sensible, civil conversation.   Our rules of engagement are the say. Simply said: "Play Nice!"

Let us know what you think.

Enjoy.

Richard....You left off the second part of your 'rules of engagement'. Don't post anything that may reflect poorly on any council member the blog likes.
