QUOTE: "A Dollar Express Store is coming to the Oro Valley Marketplace. It is a division of Dollar Tree Stores."

Oh boy, another high quality shop for upscale Oro Valley. Let me see: Big Lots, Tuesday Morning the new dollar store. All we need now is a GoodWill outlet and a soup kitchen.

My sentiments exactly. If there was a button to click FAVORITE on Nombe's comment, I would click on it!

We're still waiting for the Signature Shops and Unique Shops and Upscale Shopping that Vestar promised. I still can't even find the "beautiful courtyard" where I was supposed to be able to "meet my friends for an ice cream."

Vestar blamed the change in tenants on the bad economy (eye roll). OK, so what happens when the economy turns around again as it always does? How are we going to get "Signature Shops" to sign on when they're told that they'll be surrounded by junk stores?

This will ALWAYS be a junk mall. That was the plan from the beginning. That's why Vestar never clearly defined what they meant by "unique shops" and "signature shops."

We do have a goodwill donation center behind Walgreen on Tangarine and 1st. Vestar missed that one for the Marketplace.

I am not sure if there is a soup kitchen anywhere in Oro Valley?

All developers use "weasel" words to describe their creations. In the US it's called "creative advertising".

Wonder what "creative" words and services are being used to sell the Ina/Oracle Annexation?

I'm sure that Nadine's upscale women's clothing boutique is thrilled that a Goodwill donation center has opened right next door. Businesses do better when similar businesses are grouped together because they get the foot traffic from the same clientele.

A good example is the plaza at Sunrise and Kolb that used to be upscale. It's gone way downhill over the past few years. One of our favorite restaurants is closing as a result, a fine dining restaurant that was once surrounded by other upscale establishments. It's now surrounded by fast food places and junk stores. His business dropped drastically after that. Sarcasm warning...But I'm sure I can find desserts imported from Italy somewhere at OVM.

At some point (maybe) the snobish attitude of some may come to the realization that it is not the Vestar's of the world who bring in, "Signature Shops and Unique Shops and Upscale Shopping." It is the marketing folks of those establishments who look at the fiscal demographics of the local population and say, "Yes, our retail shop can be profitable in this marketplace."

So the fact that those places aren't here is simply a reflection of those who have commented here.

And to refer to Oro Valley Marketplace as a "junk mall" is saying to the many thousands who shop there and support our community, "You are a junk cuntomer."

I'd like to thank them and shake their hand for keeping me from higher taxation.

OVOT.

If you want lower taxation, get thee out of Pima county.

Nombe..I don't think I suggested lower taxation but it would be nice.

What we need to do is get the liberals out of our county board seats AND support our business community AND bring in more busines to Pima County.

And lastly we need to get those idiots who won't shop at the Oro Valley Marketplace to do so.....or leave...as you suggested.
