Bits and Pieces

---
We caught up with Oro Valley resident Mark Napier, who continues his quest for pima county sheriff in this month's republican primary.  Seems that  one of Mark's opponents sent out an email that referenced a piece we posted last February regarding Mark's then candidacy for Oro Valley town council. Those were different times and different positions.  Anyone who uses what we wrote last February to denigrate Mark in any way is clearly out of touch.  Mark is imminently qualified to be a great pima county sheriff.

Accuracy in reporting: What is the Oro Valley Fire Department?  "The Oro Valley Fire Department is teaming up with Oro Valley Ace Hardware to help the Marana Community Food Bank." (Arizona Daily Star)  There is, of course, no Oro Valley Fire Department.

Congratulations to Oro Valley resident Will Miles Clark.  Miles will be 108 years old on Aug. 17 (Explorer News)

Did you know that: "Pima County paid its 1,000th top earner $63,258, about $28,000 more than the average resident pulls down." (Arizona Daily Star)  It's good to work for the County!

Did you know: "More than 75 percent of votes are now cast by early ballots in Pima County elections - compared to about 25 percent in 1998." (Arizona Daily Star)
