On July 20, 2012, the Oro Valley Police Department began a fraud investigation involving one victim. The investigation lead to a suspect who lived in the city of Tucson and a search warrant was conducted at the 10000 Block of East Speedway, where the suspect was located and a significant amount of evidentiary items were located indicating a large fraud operation was being conducted at this residence. Brittney Leigh Underwood (DOB 02/25/83), who uses an alias of Tiffany Bastien (DOB 03/02/87), appeared to be one of the leaders of this criminal syndicate and was arrested for multiple counts of fraud schemes and artifices, aggravated identity theft, identity theft and credit card theft. She is currently confined in the Pima County Jail.
During the investigation, Beavers Band Box and Egencia documents were recovered. Our Criminal Investigations Unit wants to ensure all victims are located. If you are contacted by anyone claiming to represent Beavers Band Box or Egencia, do not provide them any information. The Oro Valley Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating additional victims to this fraud. If you have any information or suspect you have been a victim, please contact Det. Ever since I moved to the Tucson area I have been amazed by the mug shots which appear on TV, in the newspaper and now on the LOVE Blog.
What is it about this area? Why is our local criminal class so.....well, ugly. I have not seen one attractive crook in over 4 years. Even the so called "beauty contest winner? who kidnaped her ex boy friend was not looking her best.
Is it the heat? Single wide trailers with evaporative cooling? The state legislature? The short term damage due to meth addiction? There has to be a reason these people are so ugly? No idea here.
Nombe....This has to take the prize for the "BEST OF SHOW" posts on the LOVE blog. And then you combine it with the headline and it just becomes a classic.
Actually, when I saw the picture, I immediately wondered what Nombe was thinking because he and I have had this conversation before on this blog about how all the criminals out here look like mutants! The "beauty" contest winner was especially hilarious.
My guess as to why they look this way is a combination of meth addiction and lack of education...both formal education and personal hygiene education. They're all connected.
