The Steam Pump Ranch's Oro Valley Hotel & Suites is in foreclosure.
It is important that all Oro Valley's lodging facility be successful since it is the bed tax that is funding much of the the $5 million aquatic facility reconstruction.
Apparently, the efforts of the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau ("MTCVB"), which were heralded by Mayor Hiremath and Council Member Snider, Waters and Hornat at a June Oro Valley Town Council Meeting, do not extend beyond the assisting the El Conquistador. In fact, when it comes to MTCVB, the only activities it seems to report in terms of driving tourism to Oro Valley faclities is driving bookings into the El Conquistador. Could this be because Lynn Ericson, runs both MTCVB and the El Conquistador?
It would be good to see MTCVB serve all Oro Valley-based organizations not just the one that Lynn Ericson runs.
