This from an Oro Valley press release: "Beginning May 1, 2012 through Labor Day, any Town resident may call the Inspection & Compliance Division at 229‐4815 to schedule a free inspection. Inspectors will verify that critical features designed to separate children from pools and spas are in place in accordance with the Town’s currently adopted Pool & Spa Code. If they are deficient they will point out where those deficiencies are and offer suggestions with regard to how they can be remedied. This will not obligate the owner to make corrections but will provide direction to those equally interested in safety."

One of the nice things that The Oro Valley Police Department does is to conduct outreach programs. One such program, a "Teen Academy", is planned for June 25-27. It is for students age 13-17 who attend our local high schools. The three-day program covers all sorts of things. Certainly, attending will do nothing by good for our youths. Contact Officer Jody Stevens at 220-2900 to sign up.
