Item 3 on Wednesday's Oro Valley Town Council Agenda will eliminate the synopsis written minutes that are currently being taken at council meetings. Instead, the written minutes will be replaced by action minutes only; plus video/audio of each session. This would happen for all minutes of all boards and commissions also.
The idea was requested by Mayor Hiremath and Appointed Council Member and 2012 Council Candidate Solomon.
Read the proposal here.
So much for "transparancy". Sure, let's provide even less information to our citizens and force them to spend hours listening to a recording or watching video.
This will make it much more difficult for any of us to find information. It is far easier to scan minutes than it is to be forced to listen to a tape or watch an entire video.
That's exactly what Hiremath and Solomon want.
By the way, we also think that this change to action-only minutes would violate the American Disability Act requirements for full access for all, since those who are hearing impaired will not have access to these anything but a "bare bones" list of actions taken.

Question: Who in their right mind would consider even for a moment, voting for The Appointed One, Solomon?
Since the majority of Hiremath, Snider, Hornat & Waters appointed Solomon, the home builder, he has proved time and again, he'll do whatever it takes to vote against the people's best interests.
2014 can't come soon enough so we can rid ourselves of Hiremath who leads the charge in supporting every Special Interest Group.
Hopefully, enough voters will say "enough," and vote for Bill Garner, Mike Zinkin & Brendan Burns when the primary election ballots are mailed out next month.
Mr. Solomon is an intelligent person but he has an "agenda" and his brain and bent fit in fine with the present council.. driven by greed for ....not the police...but development. How can we deliver lotsa money with the little land :) still available in OV. MU it
I suspect that we are loosing here (Citizens) the concept for the Town. We, as Shirl Lamonna, voiced at the P&Z Jan 3, the reason/concept of our Town.
Stevie is/was a developer; he will be that. He may be jocular/friendly but look at his goals.
It seems that people are not willing to understand that the Town of Oro Valley is under staffed. Can't people see that this is a creative way to keep you in the loop and informed!?
