I guess if someone really wanted to know, they could have somehow found out where the "Budget Retreat" would be held, and perhaps, even find out something about the agenda.
A good friend called us and asked what we knew. The answer was "nothing."

I went out to the Oro Valley Web site about 530PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 to see if anything was scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2011 for the Town of Oro Valley. I found a listing for an Oro Valley Budget Retreat to be held between 800AM - 500PM. However, it said the site was TBD (to be determined). I am interested in the Town finances and would have liked to attend if I knew the site.
Since the Oro Valley offices were closed, I thought maybe the Love Blog might have some information on where the Budget Retreat would be held.
I went out to the Love Blog about 630PM on Friday, January 28, 2011 to see if you knew anything about the Saturday, January 29, 2011 Oro Valley Budget Retreat.
Your posting suggested that the Town might be keeping it a secret.
Last year I attended the 2010 Budget Retreat that was announced on the Town Web Site far in advance that specified Ventana as the location and a full agenda explaining what would be covered. It also gave me an opportunity to contact the budget coordinator (Lance Decker) hired for the retreat to get more detailed information.
I went out to the Town Web site about 645PM and magically the Budget Retreat site (Hilton) and an agenda for the meeting appeared!

John---Thanks, but it seems that the Budget Retreat has "disappeared." As of 9:00 AM Jan 29, here's what is noted the OV web site. No mention of any Budget Retreat.

One of our more astute readers suggested that the omission of the "Budget Retreat" agenda on the Town's web site, may have been more than just an "oversight."
It may have violated the Az Open Meeting Laws that mandate that a Study Session be posted at least 24 hours ahead of time, complete with all information, including agenda, and most certainly, the location of the meeting.
Might a "legal opinion" be required to determine what, if any action should be taken to rectify this situation?
