We have a couple of detractors that go out of their way to denigrate me, the Council Members we helped elect in 2008, and the candidates we support in this critical election.
One issue being brought up is one about "Special Interest Groups." For those readers that may not realize it, allow me to reiterate our position. We are leery of ANY Special Interest Group supporting any candidates. Why? Because when an "entity" supports a candidate with either endorsements, money, or more than likely, both, we wonder, "Are they being gracious, or do they expect something in return?"
We supported Bill Garner & Salette Latas in the last election. Neither sought nor received any endorsement from any outside sources, and both were elected in the March primary---a first for Oro Valley.
We believe, without doubt, that Bill & Salette have exceeded any expectations from their constituents, and they both remain true to their word in supporting the best interest of the majority of the people of Oro Valley.
This time around, there are only two candidates we support: Mike Zinkin for Mayor and Dr. Don Emmons for Council.
For those readers that want to believe that Bill and/or Salette are obligated to me, all I can say is; "It 'aint' so."
I've stated here on a number of occasions, I do not want nor do I expect anything whatsoever from any candidate we support --- except one thing. They should be true to their word and when elected, work hard and do what they believe serves the best interests of the vast majority of the people of our community.
Mike and Dr. Don hold the sames values as me. They neither sought nor wanted any endorsements from any entity within or outside the government. That includes, the Chamber of Commerce, the Home Builders, the Developers and the Police Unions.
Let our detractors tell you what it is I can expect for our support. Will they lavish me with gifts? Will they give me money? Will I get a glorified job? The answer is obviously "no." I want no personal gain in any way, shape or form.I want only one thing, and I'll say it again--- "I only want candidates, that when elected, will remember to serve the people of Oro Valley who put them in office"
Mike Zinkin & Dr. Don Emmons will work to that end. We are proud to ask you to vote for them. We hope you'll agree with our assessment as you did in 2008 for Bill & Salette.
Thanks for your consideration.

Dr. Don Emmons---Our Choice For Oro Valley Town Council
As you know, we have endorsed Dr. Don Emmons for Oro Valley Town Council.
We recognize that there are three vacancies for the Town Council. Dr. Don, however, is the ONLY candidate we feel confident in supporting. Without saying anything negative about the others, we will say that Don has our support because we believe he is worthy of it.
Dr. Don Emmons has neither solicited nor desired the support of ANY Special Interest Group. Don has made it perfectly clear that he will not be beholden to anyone other than the people of Oro Valley.
When a Special Interest Group supports a candidate, whether it be for mayor or council, we are concerned that they will expect something in return for their support. Whether it be the police unions, the firefighters, the home builders, the Chamber of Commerce or whoever, they all have their own agenda.
Dr. Don Emmons wants no part of that! For those that believe we (LOVE BLOG) are a Special Interest Group, let me say this in no uncertain terms. We expect nothing in return for our support other the candidates remaining true to their commitment to the people of Oro Valley. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Don is bright, articulate, concerned about Oro Valley, and is totally familiar with our General Plan and a graduate of the Oro Valley Citizens Planning Institute.
At this time we are voting for only one Council candidate. Don is the one!
Please read a little more about Don here.

If you agree with us, you'll cast only two votes. One for Mike Zinkin for Mayor and one for Dr. Don Emmons for Council.
