Critical Oro Valley Council Study Session Jan. 14

Two major issues are on the agenda for Wed. Jan. 14 Oro Valley Council Study Session at 5:30 PM.

The first item to be discussed concerns the future of the Naranja Park Site.

As we all know, the voters overwhelmingly said "no" to a $48.6 bond issue in the Nov. election.
More recently, the town staff requested the federal government consider subsidizing the park to the tune of $150 million, under the new name: "Naranja Recreational & Cultural Complex."

Regardless of what it is called, the future of this parcel should be of concern to all of us.

The 2nd item to be discussed is no less important, and to some, probably even more critical. It is the future of the Oro Valley Library.

What some of us might not know is the library is now under the auspices of Oro Valley, even though we pay Pima County Library taxes. Should OV turn control over to the county and save millions of dollars or continue operating it and basically paying double? You can be sure that decision will be discussed at this study session.

Please try to attend. Wed. Jan 14 @5:30 PM.
