Maketplace Tenant Linens n' Things Files For Bankruptcy

Oro Valley Marketplace tenant Linens 'n Things filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This gives them the opportunity to file a plan of reorganization. They can abandon leases. They can abandon new stores. All will be part of their plan. Perhaps one less tenant in our very ordinary $23.2 million citizen-subsidized gigantic strip-like shopping center.

Sorry to hear that. Shame as Linens n'Things was one of the nicer stores proposed for the new junk center.
I am still waiting for the town or town council to pressure Vestar for an update on what stores they are providing for us in turn for that
23.2 million.

Terry,

Can you respond to my last two posts under OV Election/Sonoran Alliance. Art also made an observation in the final post about Vestar and outdoor malls. Can you respond to that please because it all just looks like more lies from Vestar.

I checked and Linens & Things is still coming to the Marketplace.

Terry and others, though I personally would like to see Linens 'n' Things retain it's position as a coming attraction to the OV Marketplace, no one, not even Vestar can say with absolute certainty that it will happen. After all, this Chapter 11 was just filed 2 days ago and I doubt that all things can be sorted out
'right' away'. Under chapter 11,
they can, and most probably will, "revisit certain agreements"; hopefully their situation will still allow for
a store here.

Linens and Things personnel came here to assure Vestar they were coming despite the filing. Seems fairly certain maybe not absolutely.
