We just received the Pima Assoc. of Taxpayers First Edition Newsletter written by their Treasurer & Editor, Mary Schuh.
We are proud to have Mary as a friend, and whether you know it or not, she may be the best friend any of us have who call Pima County our home.
In their first issue for 2008, "PAT" talks about two issues we addressed in recent postings here.
The first is about SCR 1009, a Resolution introduced by State Senator Linda Gray which basically says "No Taxpayer Money For Lobbyists." It would give voters in November the opportunity to prohibit governments and government agencies from using taxpayer money
to lobby the Legislature.
The second issue (we just did this posting)--- addresses the issue of Golder Ranch Fire District and five other Districts including the Northwest Fire District forming a membership corp---AZ Urban Fire District Assoc (AUFDA) to do what?
LOBBY THE LEGISLATURE TO FIGHT ANY NEW TAX REDUCTION INITIATIVES!
You can contact Mary at maryoldshoe72@aol.com for more info.If you wish to be a member of "PAT" ---a non-profit, non-partisan group of concerned Pima County citizens, the dues are a very reasonable $10/single, $15/family. Doing so will help support their newsletter and allow you to read what is going on concerning your tax money.
