The Embassy Suites in Oro Valley: Good or Bad?

Last week, Embassy Suites announced that they were coming to town (announcement). The facility is going to be built across from the Northwest Hospital, on the north side of Tangerine Road. Aside from height restrictions, we don't know why having them in town wouldn't be a good idea. Unless, of course, there is some "secret deal" to give them a tax break, also known as "corporate welfare". Anyone care to enlighten us?

Sounds like it will be a nice project, that is as long as they are held to the same standards as the surrounding buildings, ie, the hospital.. The proximity to the new ov marketplace once again reminds us of how ov missed the mark.
With new hotels, etc being so close, it would have been nice to have some shopping for the tourists, visitors and places to eat.
Any news of more "unique" stores at the marketplace?

Sounds great!!!

It never ceases to amaze me the level of paranoia that some OV residents seem to have. A "secret deal", "corporate welfare", "Vistoso HOA runs the Town" and on and on and on and on and on...................!

And along the same line of thinking, the folks staying at the Embassy Suites will probably hop right over to I-10 and run up to Nordstrom's and do their shopping. They wouldn't be caught dead slipping over to Wal-Mart to pick up that tooth paste they couldn't bring on the plane, or catch a movie across the street or run down the road three minutes to grab a meal at Chili's.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

Embassy Suites Bad Idea
They said Nordstrom, Dillards etc. upscale unique stores. All we are getting are Walmart and a crematorium. What happend to the Ritz Carlton? WAKE UP ORO VALLEY COUNCIL! WE DON'T WANT THIS!!!!

Redhead.....

No one said Nordstrom's except the folks that don't understand economics and I don't recall any person saying Dillard's.

Just another uninformed comment.
