Some progress made on making the Community Center more mobility accessible
Wednesday, Town Public Works Director Paul Keesler updated the Town Council on what is happening regarding improving mobility access at the Community Center.  Keesler is getting a quote for a two person elevator. That elevator will be permanent but will be able to be disassembled and used elsewhere if the day comes that the town upgrades the old clubhouse. He will update Council later this month.

The funds for an elevator have been in the budget for several years. It was "back burnered" by former Town Manager Mary Jacobs. Jacobs wanted to include improving mobility access as part of a "grand remodeling" of the Community Center. That remodeling was never discussed by Council and never approved. This is just another example of how the former Town Manager failed to implement a council directive.
