Bids for the management of Oro Valley's two town owned 18-hole golf courses are due today.
Bidders, at their discretion, may also bid operating, at their cost, the Overlook Restaurant. Bidders may also propose managing the 9-hole Pusch Course. That course will be leased by the El Conquistador Resort starting in October.
April 30 selection target date
The town will review each proposal with the goal of creating a short list of potential operators. That list will be determined by March 17. In-person interviews with the companies on this list will be done in late March. The target date for awarding the contract is April 30. The contract commences August 1.
Six potential bidders
Six golf management companies have participated in the pre-proposal process:
- Troon Golf
Troon is the current course manager - Billy Casper Golf
They manage Arizona National, Quarry Pines ( Marana)and Dave White Golf Course (Casa Grande) - Touchstone Golf
They manage three golf clubs in Arizona. These are located in Mesa, Ft. Mohave, and Chandler - Golf Links:
We think they operate the Tubac Golf Resort - Kemper Sports
The have one course in Arizona - CourseCo
They are a west coast golf course manager. The Oro Valley courses would be the first they would operate in Arizona
