Council Member Mike Zinkin has been selected a 2014 Leadership Fellow by the National League of Cities and Towns (NLC). Zinkin, Oro Valley's representative to the group, will be attending their conference in Seattle this week.
"I am surprised and very honored to be selected as a 2014 Leadership Fellow. This appointment will be a follow-up to the 101 Arizona Town Hall I attended where the topic was "Civic Leadership for Arizona's Future." This will give me a great opportunity to work and network with fellow elected municipal offficials to learn what is working for them and see if it will also work for Oro Valley," Zinkin observed in an email to us.
In a letter to Zinkin, the Mayor of St. Paul, Mn, Christopher Coleman observed: "I am excited about the opportunity to have your expertise and commitment as part of the NLC family."
The purpose of the leadership group is to support NLC's education program. This includes strengthening peer networking and support among leaders committed to professional development and lifelong learning.
Zinkin's appointment is for one year.

Congratulations to Mike!
I hope he takes a cab!
So much for all the negative press our Mayor and his associates placed on Zinkin. Great Job Mr. Zinkin!
