If you think this past election, especially for mayor of Oro Valley didn't matter, think again.
In only the latest of many questionable actions by new mayor, Satish Hiremath, this council may well vote to disband, among other volunteer boards, the Development Review Board.
Mike Zinkin, our candidate for mayor, and former chair, along with present chair, Mike Schoeppach join with thousands of other citizens, hoping it won't come to that.
This item is on tonight's council agenda.
Every citizen should be aware of which council member votes to disband the DRB, and who supports not taking this action which will certainly have "unintended consequences."

Glenn Beck takes the Tea Party to the capital, Art takes his thousands of supporters to the OV City Council.
Yeah, OVDad, ain't it tooooooo cooool!!!?
Didn't happen, did it, Art? So now I guess you'll have to abandon your vision of 'unintended
consequences', eh?.
C'est la vie!
Did it ever occur to you Zev that sometimes the citizen's views (even mine and the blog) are not only heard, but listened to?
It's refreshing to see this council do the right thing once in a while---like Lou Waters did last night asking to revisit the questionable closing of the OV pool.
Art, yes, I do realize that the [citizens voices ARE listened to, even yours and the blog]; I AM one of those citizens! But, Art, do you realize that the presumptuous poison darts that often pervade some of the posts here are also 'noticed' and, to one degree or another, can overshadow the potential of reason? Just because there might be a voice or vote by Council that falls in line with your mindset does not mean that you or the blog 'made it happen'. There are many of us within the community that address issues 'under the radar'; I believe that such carries much more weight
than proffering the assumption that our Council is a collection of mindless robots mastered by the control of nefarious monsters. There is room for dissent and opposition and that is a good thing; however, the carriage of civility can usually mitigate negative reactive responses and that is a good thing too!
Zev--- If you read what I said, you might not have gone out of your way to initiate an argument.
You presume way too much. You have a tendency to misinterpret my words to your liking.
Nowhere did I suggest that the blog was the reason for this or any vote.
I wasn't the one that wanted to "axe" the DRB. The mayor took a public position on that issue and it appears the only ones in agreement with him were those entities that helped get him elected. The mayor can say what he will.
Being you feel it your right to be presumptuous, I can presume why the mayor was in agreement with those that put him in office.
To quote you: "C'est la vie!"
Art, I had absolutely no intention of initiating an argument with you. Your opening question "did it ever occur to you Zev....." simply received what I deemed to be an appropriate answer and was relative only to your post above it. Did it ever occur to me....? Hmmm, Art, I think I am quite an aware individual so why take such a 'shot'? As to the Mayor's position relative to the DRB, I agree with you on that. However, I do not, cannot, and will not accept that it was 'payback'. As to me being presumptive, that most certainly is not my 'thing'; presumption is 'faith' based speculation without absolute basis in FACT and, unfortunately, I see tons of it on many blog streams here.
Art, what I wrote was not 'all about you' and what I write now, is not 'all about you' either; let's leave it at that - can we?
