New Crematorium Issue!

How many of you have been out walking in various neighborhoods and seen the "tiny, little" yellow signs that say; "notice," and are usually high enough for the ants & centipedes to read if they had a magnifying glass?

Well, we've been alerted that one finally appeared on the Rancho Vistoso Crematorium site, and the neighbors aren't happy.

Rather than saying anymore, here's the email we received from one of the neighbors.

As of today July 3, 2007, there is FINALLY a Town of Oro Valley development yellow sign 11" x 17" on the corner of the crematorium site. It seems that the developers Harpold/Wagner are APPEALING the decision of the Design Review Board on June 4, 2007, to the Town Council (Some of us attended that meeting.)

Harpold/Wagner want to have dirt berms instead of concrete block walls around the crematorium site. This will save them money if they don't have to buy concrete blocks and have walls built, AND they won't have to pay to haul away as much dirt. Of course, there is the problem that berms erode into adjoining streets creating a muddy mess, especially during monsoon season. Berms require plantings that take water, and we're in a drought. Berms may not screen the view of the crematorium as well, either. But Harpold/Wagner want their way again!

The sign says it was posted June 25th. We saw it for the first time today and we have been past the site almost daily.
