Mayor Hiremath continues to insult Oro Valley residents

When Hiremath first ran for mayor in 2010, he won by a mere 30 votes. Unfortunately, we’ve been stuck with him ever since. Not only has his poor leadership included raising taxes, catering to developers, and buying three money-losing golf courses that the citizens never requested, but he has also been rude to any citizen who disagrees with him. You can witness this behavior at any council meeting.

For those who prefer reading to watching Town videos, today we bring you a few examples of Mayor Hiremath’s disdain for the citizens that we obtained from print media.

December 2013
In a rant that Hiremath penned for the Explorer (timed to be published on Christmas Day no less) besides all the false assertions he made about then Councilmember, Mike Zinkin, in his attempt to get him recalled, Hiremath also said this about Zinkin’s supporters:

“Anyone who comes to the defense of Mike Zinkin ought to consider their own judgment and sensibilities.”

The recall attempt failed.  But jumping back to the present…

Mr. Mayor, we know that you are aware of Councilmember Steve Solomon’s recent appalling behavior against three Oro Valley women. You’ve said nothing. Silence equals approval. Silence equals acceptance. At this point, you might want to take a look at your own judgment and sensibilities.

August 2014
After winning re-election in 2014, Hiremath did an interview with the AZ Daily Star. Here is a quote from the article they published regarding that interview:

“Hiremath said the election results show the town’s residents don’t want to listen to a ‘whiny minority.’”

So if you disagree with Mayor Hiremath, you’re whiny. It couldn’t be because you have thoroughly researched the issues and are well-versed on them.

August 2018
We just found this gem on the Hiremath for Mayor Facebook page. Apparently, he has changed his opinion of those who disagree with him. In 2014, you were whiny. In 2018, well, apparently, you’re just plain stupid!  [Click to enlarge]

Hiremath’s 8-year long disdain for the citizens shows no signs of stopping. His behavior is unbecoming of an elected official. Oro Valley residents deserve better than this.  Please join us in voting him out of office on August 28th.
