We wrote Friday that the political signs of candidates Pat Straney and Don Bristow are being stolen. This is happening while the signs of the incumbents, located in the same areas, have not been touched.We conclude that some incumbent candidate supporters are absolutely petrified at the thought that 2 of their candidates could they lose the election.

Destroying a sign is insane. It is also a federal offense.

This has become the norm...signs stolen or destroyed by those who want to silence the message of anyone who disagrees with them.
It's gotten to the point of even having a bumper sticker on your car is dangerous.
My question is why have signs anyway? Signs have been destroyed long enough to have a law against it. Maybe they should spend their money in a way that won't allow others to behave badly.
Wouldn't it be great to have the people solicit the legislators who created the rules for the placement, amount, and sizes of political signs? Do you think we could get them all banned?
In PHX, an AZ lawmaker was caught on videotape driving an accomplice who destroyed signs that pointed out his voting record. Driving with a vanity plate, no less. Pretty stupid. Perhaps we need some cameras. This happens every election yet OVPD never seems to catch anyone.
