Lt. Kara Riley of The Oro Valley Police Department sent a press release today as follows. It relates to a poisoning of a puppy. We recall this same thing happening a few years ago in the same area of Oro Valley. Can you help? Here's the press release:
"The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) received a phone report on March 10, 2014 in reference to a puppy being poisoned and ultimately dying. The investigation revealed that on March 10, 2014 at approximately 6:45 a.m., the puppy’s owner placed the puppy in the backyard in the area of Lambert and La Cañada. When the owner returned home approximately three hours later, she found the puppy deceased. The owner took the dog to the veterinarian where a necropsy was performed. The doctor determined the cause of death was a strychnine-laced hot dog.
The OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit has exhausted all leads and is now seeking the public’s assistance with finding the person or persons responsible. OVPD is asking anyone with any information on this crime to call 88-crime, 911 or (520) 229-4900."
