Contractor Magnum Paving will construct a new deceleration and left turn lane into the new entrance of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Road (just west of La Cholla). The three- to four-week project is scheduled begin approximately January 7, 2013. During that time, speeds will be reduced to 25 mph and drivers will be detoured onto the shoulders. The Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce announced today they will continue to give customers $10 for every $100 they spend in OV Dollars until January 31, 2013. The Chamber has been offering this incentive since the town of Oro Valley launched its Shop Oro Valley Holiday Campaign on November 1, 2012. The Town of Oro Valley will participate in BEYOND by hosting two family-friendly hikes in Catalina State Park on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. Hikers may choose from the Canyon Loop Trail (3-mile loop) or the Sutherland Trail to Sutherland Wash (5.2 miles round-trip). Both hikes have minimal elevation gain. December19 HiVE Results: December 19, 2012 HiVE deployment results There were a total of 34 traffic stops:
- 19 drivers were stopped for moving violations (e.g. running red light, speeding)
- 15 drivers were stopped for equipment and/or registration violations
- Of those 34 stops, 2 drivers received citations for moving violations
- 24 drivers received written warnings
- 8 drivers received combination citation and warning for non-moving violations
