Oro Valley-based Securaplane Technologies unveiled it plans for a 55,000 square foot facility in Innovation Park at neighborhood meeting this past Monday. "Securplane offers certified wingtip, horizontal stabilizer and belly mounted camera systems, which provide ground based situational awareness for flight crews."
The project will use the EEZ approval proces. This was approved by the Oro Valley Town Council last month. This is the first time that Oro Valley has used the EEZ process, a process designed to shorten the approval process for Innovation Park projects. The process can be used as long as the applicantion abides by all existing zoning and PAD codes.
The property size is 6.7 acres. It will house office and light product assembly. It will employ 200-250 people. From all accounts we received, this project should be a "slam dunk"

The Oro Valley Police Department plans three HiVE deployments at Oracle and Magee, south to Suffolk Road, this coming week. Six motorcycle officers will be deployed:
- Dec. 19, 2012 7 - 10 a.m.
- Dec. 20, 2012 4 - 7 p.m.
- Dec. 27, 2012 4 - 7 p.m.

The Town Of Oro Valley is seeking volunteer applicants for two of its boards/commissions. There is one vacancy on the Conceptual Design Review Board and two vacancies on the Historical Preservation Commission.

The town has announced "Second Saturdays at Steam Pump Ranch, beginning January 12, 2013, 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m." There will be tours of the property, special presentations, exhibits and guest speakers. We will post more on this as we learn more.

- Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- (Closed Sunday)
