Oro Valley, Arizona (November 9, 2012) The Oro Valley Police Departments Criminal Investigations Unit along with the Community Action Team (CAT) apprehended all suspects in the home invasion that occurred on November 7, 2012.

During the investigation the victim was able to provide critical information that led to the identity of the suspects. On today’s date the CAT unit was able to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and took into custody a total of four suspects, three adults and one minor. The driver of the vehicle stopped today was identified as Wellington Curichimba Marin (DOB 05/27/72). He is believed to be the driver during the original incident on November 7, 2012. In the vehicle with Marin was a Jacqueline Michelle Carlson (DOB 12/21/74) and Anthony Kane White-Giordano (DOB 05/25/94), and a 13 year old male, who is not believed to be related to any of the other suspects.

It is believed that Marin knew the victim and planned the robbery to take items from her residence. He drove the suspects to the area of the residence and lured the victim to answer the door by having the minor knock on the door. All four suspects entered the residence where the victim was tied up, choked and held at gun point. After the suspects took jewelry and money they fled the scene.

Marin, Carlson and White-Giordano have all been booked into the Pima County Jail for the following charges: Armed Robbery (F2), Aggravated Assault (F3), Kidnapping (F2) and Trafficking in Stolen Property (F3). The 13 year old male was charged with Armed Robbery (F2), Aggravated Assault (F3) and Kidnapping (F2) and was booked into the Pima County Juvenile Court.

Kudos to our great police force.

Good public safety isn't free. I hope this incident and the tremendously quick response by OUR PD makes those who believe we need to spend a bunch of money trying to find ways to cut the police budget, think twice before making any future silly requests.

The other police agencies in the area would still be filling out paperwork.

Regarding "Thinker's" comment...

Perhaps a police study would reveal that we need more police and not less. Maybe it would reveal that we need more police patrolling the neighborhoods and less of them making traffic stops, or maybe it would reveal that we need more of both.

My first thought upon learning of the home invasion was, "How did this happen in a town with such a stellar police force? Or is it not as stellar as we've been told to believe?"

Of interest is that there is a "Neighborhood Watch" sign on Meadow Sage. It wasn't much of a deterrent.

I thought the original story said that the three intruders were approx. an 18-year old boy, 16-year old girl, and 10-year old boy.

Two of those arrested were 18 and 13 year old males which matches up fairly well, but where is the 16-year old girl? The woman that was arrested is 38.

The police department is far more "stellar" that some of the citizens who continue to bash it.
