The Oro Valley Police Department and FOP Sponsor "Shop With A Teacher Event"
"ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (August 20, 2012) - The Oro Valley Police Department is excited to partner with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 53, for the annual “Shop with a Teacher.” The event will be held at the Target located at Oracle and First Avenue on August 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. All 9 private and public schools in Oro Valley will be given $200.00 dollars each by the Oro Valley Fraternal Order of Police to purchase supplies for the current school year.
Over the years, the Oro Valley Police Department School Resource Unit had observed teachers paying out of their own pocket for school supplies. From this knowledge, a partnership was formed to assist with the needs of our local schools. Educating our children and keeping kids safe is a priority in our community and for our Police Department. This will be our 8th consecutive year participating with this great program. (Source: Oro Valley Press Release)
