Did you know that the town spent $12,000 on a portable projection screen last year.   The town used the town screen once in October 2011 at the pool and once in November 2011 at James Kreigh Park.

At no cost to the Town of Oro Valley, volunteers who reside in our community have researched and gathered information to develop the H.E.E.D. website for veterans. H.E.E.D., which stands for Health, Education, Employment and Discounts, serves as an online information hub for veterans and their families. (Source: Oro Valley Press Release 3/30/12)

Transporting audiences to a legendary era of music, the Railbirdz will bring their high-energy rhythm to Oro Valley on Thursday, April 19 at 6 p.m.  The free show, part of the Oro Valley Concert Series, will take place at Oro Valley Marketplace’s Century Theatre Courtyard.

Turns our that HB2826, the State Bill that would link local election to State and National election dates ("The Election Consolidation Bill"), did not pass the State Senate, as we previously report.  We were misinformed. Apparently, it was defeated by six votes.

On April 18, at 11 a.m., the Oro Valley Public Library will unveil a new workstation for job-seekers and those looking to improve their workplace skills.

The Arizona Job Assistance Center (AzJAC) workstation consists of a computer and an all-in-one printer, scanner, copier and fax. The furniture was custom-designed and handcrafted by local resident DuWayne Arneson.

Patrons can sign up for two-hour sessions at the workstation, where they will have access to online resources, Microsoft Office software, WinWay Resume software, and the Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor.
