Mayor Hiremath seems to not have the ability to face reality. Under his so called leadership over less than one year in office, he has shown total disdain to the citizens of Oro Valley, both individually & collectively.
It all started when the new mayor decided to choose a developer (in what appeared to be a "quid pro quo" for the support they gave him in getting him elected)even though a multitude of much better qualified citizens offered to serve.
The "Appointed One," Steve Solomon has proved to be a disaster to the people from day one.
Ms. Conny Culver, the spokesperson from the PAC notes in The Explorer article why Hornat & Snider were chosen for recall.
From my standpoint, Hiremath, Solomon & Waters could have just as easily been chosen, as "The Gang of Five" consistently voted on issues detrimental to the people of Oro Valley.
Here's The Explorer article.

Hiremath is quoted as saying:
“People have a right to voice their opinions, but they don’t have a right to be a distraction to town progress.”
What Constitution does the mayor subscribe to?
This is just the latest example that proves Hiremath should have concentrated on his dental practice and not practice to be mayor.
Shame on the mayor!
Loved this quote from Hiremath in the article:
Hiremath said if the coalition thought they had a chance of getting him out of office they would have jumped at the chance, but because they can’t, he feels they turned to Snider and Hornat as a “Plan B.”
So Hiremath just inadvertently stated that he thinks that the coalition DOES have a good chance of removing Hornat and Snider from office.
It is interesting that this is not a Partisan issue. Residents of all political parties are coming together on a united front. The attitude of these Council Members who are targeted, is that they are smarter than the residents of this town. Mary Snider stated at one of the Town Council meetings, that she was not voted to represent her constituents but to "use HER best judgment to vote on issues", implying that she has no intention of listening to her constituents.
Just look at her body language at the Council meetng when they have the "call to the audience". It is obvious these individuals have no intention of listening to the various individuals, who have tried to explain positive ways to cut the budget
Plan A would have been for 5, I believe in realistic goals.
Conny.....You should be ashamed of your involvement in this!!!
HA!!! OV OT rears his head.
Leaving Conny out of this for a while,
what is YOUR view of the 68 take home vehicles?
Conny is being very objective and non-partisan in this matter. Therefore, she has nothing to be ashamed of.
And not only does Snider exhibit some very revealing body language DURING council meetings, but if anyone witnessed her when she was going door-to-door while campaigning, they would have seen the classic "nose up in the air, I'm better than you" posture. I've also seen her walk through the council chambers with this same air of superiority.
Not sure why Conny should be ashamed of what she is doing. I think a recall sends a message to our elected officials that they are supposed to work for us and that seems to be what this recall will deliver.
Mscoyote:
Exactly. A recall, no matter what the technical result, DOES send a message! A message that higher taxes are not the solution to the town's problems.
When cox says someone should be "ashamed," we can all interpret that to mean the person is doing the right thing.
Congratulations to Conny Culver for doing the right thing. The overwhelming majority of Oro Valley residents owe you their gratitude.
PS---Welcome back mscoyote. I hope all is well with you and your family.
Let's keep it simple-- the majority of the council think that we tax too little and we think they spend too much. At this time, I do not think that the council has been willing to tackle the tougher spending issues-- police budget, employee benefits, etc. The majority of the council have chosen an easier path as they assume that the majority of citizens won't know or won't care. I applaud the citizens that have said we do know and we do care. Let the fight begin
Hi Ms, Coyote.
Good to hear from you again!!!!
