A story about the San Jose Plaza appears in the left hand column but there isn't a separate posting for it so I'm leaving my post here.
Regarding the creation of a left-hand turn into the plaza for SB motorists on Oracle Road, Mark Rusin, owner of The Loop, said a southbound left-turn lane is important to the success of the businesses in the plaza.
Consider Casas Adobes Plaza at the corner of Ina and Oracle. Although it's easy to access the plaza from SB Oracle, if you're traveling NB on Oracle you have to make a U-turn at Ina and then backtrack to access this plaza.
If you access it from EB Ina, you can only access the REAR of the plaza. In order to get to the FRONT of the plaza (by car), you must drive through the entire back parking lot, stopping at numerous speed bumps along the way, turn left on the side street, turn right on SB Oracle, make a U-turn onto NB Oracle, make another U-turn back onto SB Oracle at the light at Ina, and then turn into the plaza. Whew! Yet in spite of this, that plaza is always packed.
Some will say that you can park in the rear of the plaza and then walk to the front, but that's not always feasible for those with handicaps.
Currently, the ONLY way to enter the FRONT of that plaza is via SB Oracle and yet the plaza thrives.
