Think Your Vote Doesn't Count? Think Again! Prop 403 Passes By 28 Votes

As reported in The Explorer, voters in the Amphitheater School District passed Proposition 403, the maintenance and operations property tax override by the slimest of margins---28 votes.

As Dave Perry noted in his editorial, Amphitheater has 71,029 registered voters, according to the recorder's office. Turnout was 19,888.That means more than 50,000 people didn't cast a ballot, thereby empowering the minority to make a $7.5 million annual taxation decision for the majority.

Regardless of where you stood on this issue, hopefully, it will be a good lessen in our upcoming election for mayor & 3 council seats. YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT!
