Southern Az Requests $1.67 Billion Stimulus---Oro Valley's Request = $570.9 Million

A front page story in the Feb. 1 Az Star discusses the total amount of dollars requested by southern Arizona municipalities as part of the federal government stimulus package.

U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva is quoted as saying he predicts that the total request of $1.67B is more than half of what the whole state of Arizona will get.

As we pointed out in a previous posting on the stimulus package, Pertinent Information Concerning Oro Valley's Stimulus Request Oro Valley certainly wasn't shy in its request---that was more than any other, including the city of Tucson. As noted in the table from the article, OroValley's request was for $570.9 M.

It makes me sad to see Americans with there hands out, like beggars, looking for handouts from the Federal Government.

It is even sadder that Parties of both persuasions seem to think its a good thing.

Why....it is downright UnAmerican. Or at least "UnAmerican" in the America we once had.
