Arroyo Grande: We Need Answers

Last week, we posted citizen/blogger concerns voiced to town council at last week's meeting on the most recent plan for Arroyo Grande (click here to read). This week, the Explorer posted an article on the hearing held last Thursday on the plan.

The same concerns were voiced at this meeting.

Point is: Council is on notice that there are empty holes in the new plan. Answers need to be found regarding water impact, traffic impact, infrastructure impact and the quality of life impact of 40,000 new residents living to our North.

All of these areas need to be specifically explored before the general plan/ annexation amendment goes to council in November.

SAHBA To Sue?

A Daily Star article quotes David Godlewski, government liaison with SAHBA, as saying that SAHBA is considering suing Oro Valley over our new impact fees. The article notes that Town Attorney Tobin Rosen does not see legal grounds for a suit.

Once cozy with too many council members, SAHBA, like the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce, needs to learn a new way to do business in Oro Valley. Things have changed. And change toward a citizen-centric town government has only begun.

Whining and threatened law suits is no way to build a new relationship. Better for them to recognize that "it is what it is" and start fresh.
