As of Jan 2, 2008, Oro Valley has a new Town Attorney. Mr. Tobin Rosen, whose resume includes 30 years experience including 26 years working as a Tucson Town Attorney is now part of our community.
The only problem we may have is the fact we now have "two Tobins." Tobin Rosen joins Town Prosecutor, Tobin Sidles as part of the Oro Valley legal team.
We're not sure if one will be "TR" & the other "TS".
In any case, we hope "TR" has a long and fruitful tenure in Oro Valley.

Oro Valley Council Will Consider Annexation Of State Lands To The North
Patrick McNamara of The Explorer has written a concise, informative article on a very important issue: The possibility of Oro Valley annexing State Lands north of town, to the Pinal County line.
At the Jan 16 Council Meeting, Representatives from the State Land Department will give a presentation. We would encourage all of our residents to be familiar with this potential annexation.
Additionally, an Open House will be held on Jan 22, at Town Hall.

Goldwater Institue Reports City Of Phoenix Spends $10,000 A Week On Lawsuit
The esteemed Goldwater Institute, under the Director of their legal department, Clint Bolick, reports that the city of Phoenix has already spent $100,000 on outside attorneys to defend their multi-million dollar giveaway.
Clint Bolick and The Goldwater Institute Scharf-Norton Center for Constitutional Litigation deserve all our accolades for taking on this case.
We in Oro Valley know only too well what damage an "out of control" Town Council can do and we are well aware of the fact that they have a propensity to spend taxpayers money on outside attorneys in too many instances.

Kudos To Sun City On Their Oro Valley Candidate Forum
Kudos to Scott Deveraux, Sun City General Manager and The Sun City Vistoso Government Affairs Committee on having an Oro Valley Candidate Forum. The room was filled to capacity with Sun City residents and other concerned Oro Valley citizens, who were able to gain an insight on the three incumbents and two challengers.
As I support Bill Garner and Salette Latas, it was not surprising that they showed a solid grasp on the issues and both differentiated themselves in many instances from the three incumbents.
Terry Parish once again stood out as being the only one of the five to not only acknowledge he accepts contributions from the big developers, but is proud to so. It didn't appear the audience was too happy to know while the developers who receive a windfall of millions of our tax dollars, always get the support of Parish at the expense of the citizens who get taxed on every conceivable necessity.
We also found it interesting that Parish & Helen Dankwerth indicated they are against a property tax. Perhaps these two Council Members do not think a Bond Issue for a secondary property tax to fund a park is a "property tax."
One other point. Both Parish & Dankwerth once again stated that giving Sanofil-Aventis, the multi billion dollar pharmaceutical company a "kickback" of $360, 000 in construction fees is a "minuscule amount." Giving away OUR money while taxing our gas, water & electric is unconscionable!
There was more, but, these are a few examples of why we need to elect BILL GARNER & SALETTE LATAS to the ORO VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL.
