Oh! Oh! Sun City West (Phoenix area) Closing Performing Arts Center

Let's not forget, Mayor Loomis wanted the Naranja Bond to be at $160 million, including a "Performing Arts Center."
How smart would that have been? Read the Az Star article below.

SUN CITY — Officials say the 7,000-seat Maricopa County Events Center in Sun City West will close at the end of the year.
The former Sundome Center for the Performing Arts was the entertainment centerpiece of Sun City West when it was built in 1980. Arizona State University took over operations in 1984 and for the past three years a private company has run it for Maricopa County.
It is used for concerts and stage performances.
County Supervisor Max Wilson says the closure is a sign that the performing arts are falling victim to a bad economy. The county has approved an agreement ending the business relationship with operator Nederlander Concerts.
Wilson says the facility will be returned to the control of ASU.
