Armanda Jacobs, Oro Valley Economic Development Specialist has initiated a really worthwhile program---- "SHOP ORO VALLEY" using the appropriate phrase, "Your Community Depends On it."
We would certainly endorse this worthy endeavor, with one major caveat:
"Shop Oro Valley Where Oro Valley Keeps 100% Of The Sales Tax Revenue."
By now, we probably all know that almost 1/2 the sales tax collected at the Oro Valley Marketplace ends up Directly In The Pockets Of Vestar!
We implore all of our readers, whenever possible, please shop at those Oro Valley retailers that contribute 100% of OUR sales tax back to us.
Some prime examples:
Shop Target, Home Depot, Ross Stores, and others. Do NOT Shop Walmart
Shop PetSmart. Do NOT Shop Petco
Shop Big 5 Sports & Sports Authority. Do NOT Shop Dick's Sporting Goods.
Shop Office Max. Do NOT Shop Best Buy.
Whenever Possible---SHOP ORO VALLEY----Shop Where The Citizens Benefit; NOT Vestar!
