Most of our readers know the November 8th election will include the proposition that authorizes the Oro Valley Mayor and Council to issue bonds to fund the Naranja Park.
The approximate coss to property owners for these bonds, excluding interest payments and Maintenance and Operating costs are noted in our earlier posting, Naranja Secondary Property Tax Will Cost You PLENTY.
PLEASE NOTE: Anyone can submit an argument for or against this proposition for the booklet the voters will receive.
ARGUMENTS MUST BE 300 WORDS OR LESS AND SUBMITTED IN WRITING AND RECEIVED BY THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE BY 5:00 PM ON JULY 30,2008.
Inasmuch as a PAC has been formed advocating a "yes" vote on this proposition, it can be expected there will be "plenty" of "yes" arguments.
THOSE OF US THAT BELIEVE THIS PARK IS A LUXURY AND SHOULD NOT BE APPROVED, ESPECIALLY IN THESE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT "NO" ARGUMENTS PRIOR TO JULY 30.

I am in favor of the Park, but not at the identified site. Why place it between two established developments (parks bred crime, noise and eventually become hang-outs for undesireables) and off Naranja, which is not capable of handling traffic for ball games, swimming events, music concerts, etc.. If you want the park, move it to an open area and if developers and homeowners desire to move next to the part, then its their decision to live next to this problem area. Sites off Tangerine or Oracle would be better suited.
