In their April 2008 issue, Pima Association of Taxpayers ("PAT") addresses the Oro Valley fire service issue. Can anyone argue with PAT's analysis?
Below is an excerpt from their article.
"La Canada Fire District, and its merging duo of Heritage Hills and North Ranch Vista will feel a bit rocky at first if the tax initiatives pass. BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THEY WILL SURVIVE without whining, sniveling or chaos. WHY?
BECAUSE observation of how those three districts manage their fiscal responsibilities is like day and night compared to larger overwhelming groups. They provide excellent services for fire and ambulance. They provide what they promise, no threats, and everything is on the table. There are no HIDDEN AGENDAS, people, property and protection are paramount-not costly programs."
"ORO VALLEY people should be allowed the opportunity to annex with them and not be forced into Golder Ranch-and pay for there annexation growth into Pinal County."
