The citizens of Oro Valley should be grateful to Explorer reporter Patrick McNamara. In doing his job of reporting the news, Patrick has given any number of reasons why the three incumbents do NOT deserve our votes in the upcoming election
Whether it be a major shortfall in the amount of income expected from the $50 million plus in giveaways to retail developers; whether it be an approval of a Crematorium in a residential area; Whether it a tax on our necessities of life; gas, water & electric; Whether it be more fees on services;
Whether it be a proposed $350,000 construction tax giveaway to a pharmaceutical company that has been here for 17 years and opted to move to larger quarters, with the incumbents saying either, it is "a nice gesture," or $350,000 is a "minuscule amount," or it would be "a snub to the state of Arizona" if we didn't give this money away to a company with almost $39 BILLION in revenue is enough reasons.
If that's not enough, this council hasn't yet decided whether they should try to "sell" the citizens on a secondary property tax for the Naranja Park in an amount of $49 million or $80 million. Perhaps, if Loomis & Parish have their way, they'll get it up to $160 million.
How about $50,000 to an outside company to "educate us" on why we want more taxes!
