Az Star Reports On Pima County Budget Crisis

In their Jan 23 issue, The Az Star reports that Pima County (along with the state & nation) will be facing a tough financial year.

Among other things, County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry said the county should delay opening new libraries and parks to avoid having to pay the operating expenses on those facilities.

What a paradox! While funds are scarce, budgets are being cut, taxes are going up, Oro Valley's Council seems to be totally oblivious to these facts.

Mayor Loomis & Council Member Parish evidently think it's wise to "ZAP" the OV property owners with a "godforsaken" secondary property tax to fund, of all things, this "monster" Naranja Park, while the developers are, and will be, "raking in millions of OUR tax dollars.

How many more reasons do we need to elect new candidates in our upcoming election.? How many more decisions will this present council make that negatively affect us until we get them out of office?

The State has to cut back. The County has to cut back. Oro Valley goes along its merry way thinking the people have unlimited resources. Is that crazy, or what?
