What Does The Rosemount Mine Have To Do With Oro Valley?

Mike Bryan puts out an informative blog---Blog For Arizona. Just this past Monday, we did a posting on his blog in which he discussed the role of our Town Clerk in the recent voter procedures trial.

In this latest issue Mike addresses the issue of a poll conducted by a company---Marketing Intelligence for Augusta Resource Corporation about their proposed Rosemont Mine.

Please read what Mike has to say about this recent poll.

Why should we in Oro Valley be concerned about a poll on the Rosemount Mine? Well, for one thing, Augusta is a foreign company that never mined before, and they plan on mixing fresh water with arsenic, blasting into holes in the beautiful Santa Rita Mountains.

If this "skewed " poll doesn't bother you, it should. Do you recognize the name "Marketing Intelligence?" Well, guess what? This is the same outfit that our OV Council is paying $17,800 to tell them "how are we doing?"

Please read the way Mike Bryan shows "how you shape consensus where none exists, and create polling data that you can sell as a true picture of community sentiment, when it is nothing but a fantasy." Should we expect anything differently for our $17,800 in Oro Valley? Of course not. This Council will get the results they're looking for, and then tell us how wonderful everything is.

Many of us know otherwise!
