Crematorium Landscape Plan Back After Development Review Board Said "No"

The Development Review Board will once again consider the request for the landscape plan for the Vistoso Memorial Chapel at their Dec 11th meeting at 6:00 PM. It is the same request as the one we discussed in a posting this summer to replace walls with berms, as permitted in the OVZCR. However, this review also includes a letter of approval from the Rancho Vistoso HOA,

Keep in mind, this request was already turned down as noted by Oro Valley Planner Pamela Pelletier. Oh yeah. One more thing. Is it just another one one those coincidences that the Rancho Vistoso HOA that now approves this plan is controlled by none other than Vistoso Partners? OUCH!

Here's the text of the notice; "Beverly Harpold Trust, represented by Advantech Facility Design Inc., requests approval of a revision to the approved landscape plans for the Vistoso Memorial Chapel, located at the corner of Rancho Vistoso Blvd. and Vistoso Commerce Loop. If you have any questions about this matter, please contact Pamela J. Pelletier, OV Planner, at (520) 229-4813 or ppelletier@orovalleyaz.gov"

Um, who really cares if Vistoso Partners is okay with a berm instead of a wall? Don't they all live in Scottsdale? Aren't they going to be ending their 20-year reign in March by turning over the HOA to the actual home owners? Aren't the actual home owners the ones who will have to live with this project? Aren't they the ones who actually VOTE in Oro Valley?

To me, what's more important than Vistoso Partners' opinion is the fact that the homeowners who live near this smokestack have already expressed their preference for a wall instead of a berm.

The home owners weren't given a fair public hearing on whether or not the corpse-burning should be allowed in their neighborhood, so I hope that the DRB and the Council members who appointed them will at least take their opinions into consideration now.

This is typical of how the developers continue to get what they want. They don't have to follow any rules. They submit plans (sometimes secretly), and then they change them at their whim. The sycophant Council and Mayor approve these wishes all the time.

Berms take more water...but apparently we have plenty..Hah! Berms erode during Monsoons, but they can bill the Homeowners Association to clean up the mess.

Don't look forward to the new Board being anybody other than people "selected" by the management company. Homeowners will come in last again!

The DRB approved the berm(s) last night, unanimously! No surprise :)

The HOA "recommendation" in favor of the berms has some guidelines to be followed......
