OV’s Path Forward: Time to Discuss Transportation

OV’s Path Forward will be the community’s next 10-year General Plan
Everyone’s voice is needed to make sure that the 2026 General Plan, OV's Path Forward, accurately reflects the community’s vision, values, and goals for the future.

The plan impacts all aspects of Oro Valley’s quality of life. This includes many elements such as housing, economic development, transportation, public safety and more. Every month, reports, videos, and new opportunities to discuss these important topics are available online.

This month: The Focus is on How Oro Valley Travels
In comparison to other similarly sized towns, do you think that OV traffic is light, just right, or congested? Are there areas where bicycle routes, pedestrian or other safety improvements are needed? These are just two of the questions being asked to help create the community’s goals for the next 10 years.

Oro Valley’s public roadway network is the single largest asset the Town owns and operates.  Oro Valley is regionally known for its high-quality streets. The Town is almost fully built (only 13% of developable, vacant land remains) and planning for the maintenance, improvements, and population growth as it relates to transportation, and more, is an important component of the 10-year plan.

Help us pinpoint areas where "travels" can be improved
Right now, community members can pinpoint areas on a map where roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, or other safety improvements are needed. This is the first time the Town has launched this type of mapping opportunity with the community. Residents might identify a roadway that could be improved or a nice place for a recreation path. The results from your combined participation will be translated into goals, policies, and actions to be implemented over the next 10 years.

Residents may visit OVPathFoward.com to read the associated background report, watch a short video, and then most importantly, answer the questions and map areas for improvement. In addition to this topic of transportation, public safety, history, housing, and economic development are also currently being discussed on OVPathForward.com

We want you to visit OVPathFoward.com often and share your ideas about each topic so that together, we can create the community’s goals for the next 10 years.
